At the end of March, Petrozavodskmash completed work on a column for Kirishinefteorgsintez. For both enterprises this order was a new stage in a continuing co-operative effort which began in the mid 1990s.
Column K-108 weighs about 100 t and is 3.6 m in diameter and 25 m in length. K-108 is part of a project to modernise the PAREKS-1 unit at the crude refinery in Kirishi, Leningrad Region. The column was made longer in order to ease shipment to the client. Petrozavodskmash Projects and Marketing Director P.M. Fedorov explained the need to increase the column's length. "The column was shorter than the lorry by about 2.5–3 m. And in order to fit in on the lorry's cargo supports, we decided to lengthen the column by the lacking amount. When delivered to Kirishi, the "extra length" will be removed", he said. In addition to the Petrozavodskmash column, a foundation was made and delivered in which the equipment will be assembled in a vertical position. Oilmarket info: Two PAREKS units were built at Kirishinefteorgsintez – one in 1980 and one in 1986. Since a paraffin LAV and LABC production complex was built at Kirishi in time, the PAREKS units are operating at full capacity today. The PAREKS block consists of three adsorbers with hydrogen-bearing gas circulation and ammonia desorbtion systems and a liquid paraffin stabiliser and a denormalisor unit. The block's main operation, which is part of the catalytic reforming process, is producing uninterrupted adsorbtion of n-parrafin with subsequent desorbtion. |
