OCHAKOV MAKES HISTORY OFFLOADING FIRST EVER BITUMEN TANKER IMPORT TO UKRAINE
OCHAKOV marine terminal in Odessa region makes history offloading first ever bitumen tanker import to Ukraine.

Last weekend, 7-8 August for the first time in Ukraine history, bitumen tanker Starpower with 3,500t of road bitumen from Greece arrived to Ochakov terminal in Odessa region. It was swiftly offloaded, indicated the cargo owner Cantarell Ukraine (previously - Ingus Oil).
Bitumen was loaded from tanker directly to the bitumen auto-tanks, then the bitumen was sent to the customers or to the Cantarell tank farm in Odessa. According to the company commercial director, Bekhan Elmurzaev, the bitumen transshipment was carried out in a short time - about 36 hours, on Saturday, 8 August, 2020, the Starpower left Ochakov.
“This was a pilot shipment, however given the current demand, we will continue to supply bitumen by the sea,” he added. The trader sees no technical of economic obstacles for more deliveries. According to him, 150 bitumen auto-trucks of the company helped to speed up the bitumen offload.
Previously, in July 2019, Cantarell Ukraine imported 114t of 50/70 grade bitumen produced by Heydar Aliyev refinery (Baku).
In July 2020, Ukraine imported a record volume of road bitumen – 95,000t, 72% more than in July 2019.
