ROSNEFT IS OPEN TO PROPOSITIONS TO BUY OIL REFINERY AND RETAIL STATIONS IN GERMANY - COMPANY
Rosneft does not rule out the possibility of buying oil refineries and gas stations in Germany stated in the interview to German Handelsblatt the head of Rosneft Deutschland Brian Chesterman.
"We are always open to opportunities in the market. This also applies to our assets in the refining sector. But we are also regularly asked if we want to buy gas stations. If there is a profitable opportunity, we will consider it. We do not rule out anything," he stressed.
As the company earlier indicated, from 1 January Rosneft launched direct sales of petroleum products from its refineries in Germany. The company launched supplies of about 60 types of petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel, heating oil, jet fuel, bunker fuel, fuel components, coke, bitumen, LPG and petrochemical products.
“Rosneft Deutschland started marketing and selling in Germany in full and is now not only one of the largest refiners, but also the leading wholesale supplier of petroleum products in the market. In this way, the transition period following the dissolution of the JV ROG was completed in accordance with the plan.” - added B. Chesterman.
At the end of 2016, Rosneft bought out a stake in German oil refineries from BP as part of the dissolution of the JV Ruhr Oel GmbH (ROG) for $1.52bn. As a result of the transaction, Rosneft, becoming a direct shareholder, increased its shares in several refineries: Bayernoil - from 12.5 to 25%; MiRO - from 12 to 24%; PCK (Schwedt) - from 35.42 to 54.17%.
Rosneft Deutschland GmbH was registered in January 2017.
This transaction led the company to third place in the German refining segment. The company's share in this market reaches 12%, the total refinery capacity is 250,000b/d (12.5mn t).
