MOSCOW REFINERY IMPROVED REFINING DEPTH IN 2016
By the end of 2016 the Gazprom neft 220,000 b/d Moscow refinery increased its oil refining depth to 75.8% (up from 72.6% in 2015). The record figure for the company was the result of a comprehensive modernization programme fulfilled since 2011 by the Gazprom neft parent company.
The projects implemented in 2011-2016 years enabled the Moscow refinery to gear up to the production of the Euro 5 compliant gasoline and diesel fuel and to reduce the impact on the environment.
The refinery modernization programme now aims to achieve by 2020 the level of the best European refineries.
In 2016, the Moscow refinery runs achieved 214,000 b/d (10.7 mn t) with clean products output increase to 58.1% (growth by 2% compared to 2015).
The refinery increased by 1.8% diesel output - up to 2.1mn t, while the diesel share in total refining products output increased by 4.6%.
The volume of jet output increased by 10% - up to 704,000t.
The refinery increased by 6% the output of the road and construction bitumen - up to 976,000t.
The refinery significantly cut fuel oil output, while the high-octane gasoline output remained at the level of 2015 at 2.6mn t.
“Improving refining margins in 2016 compared to 2015 with stable refinery runs shows growth of the operational efficiency of the Moscow refinery. The growth of refining depth allows to cut energy and resources costs increasing at the same time clean fuels output", - stated Gazprom neft-Moscow refinery managing director Arkady Egizaryan.
