Tokarev takes over
The head of Zarubezhneft replaces Semyon Vainshtok at the helm of Transneft

There are quite a few executives in Russia whose names are intractably associated with the companies they run. Semyon Vainshtok is beyond doubt one such legendary personality. From 1999 to 2007, he ran the state oil pipeline monopoly Transneft. But in September this year, Vainshtok left that post after accepting an offer from Russian President Vladimir Putin to head the Sochi-2014 Olympic Organizing Committee. Now Nikolay Tokarev is president of Transneft. Prior to his appointment, he ran the Zarubezhneft (Foreign Oil) state company.
