New Flame meets Torm Gertrud
Rescue boats sail around the Panamanian registered merchant boat New Flame is seen half sunken into the Mediterranean Sea some 1 mile off southern Spainish coast, near Algeciras on 12 August. The New Flame (43,815t DWT) collided early that day with Danish oil tanker Torm Gertrud (45,942t DWT). The merchant boat crew has been evacuated, with five people sent to local hospital. There is no danger to environment, experts say.
