UK gas stations are closing regardless of booming motor fuel salesThe latest surveys conducted by the Energy Institute (EI), show that 2006 petrol sales reversed the progressive decline seen since 1997. The last year's sales grew 572,000t (3.1%) to 40.5mn tpa. Even more dramatically, 2006 diesel sales increased by 1.66mn t (8.4%). Registered UK vehicles also reached an all-time high of 33.1mn, a 0.6% gain on 2005. |
