Russia's polypropylene market: growth in crisis
During the crisis year of 2015 Russia's polypropylene (PP) production, intermediate processing in order to produce feedstock for the endHusers and the ultimate endHuse production of PP products demonstrated unprecedented growth. Growing domestic production, its assortment and volumes created strong enough competition for the PP imports. Cheaper price in many cases made Russian PP the feedstock of choice for the Russian buyers. Market operators express concerns that cheap feedstock and other success factors will not be enough for sustainable industry growth. They believe additional state support for the industry is needed.
