International refining conference «Kremenchug refinery — development outlook and the energy of new opportunities» held on 16-17 November by OILMARKET magazine at UkrrTatNafta's Kremenchug refinery showed that today Ukraine's refiners are paying deer price in order to catch up development opportunities lost in past two decades.

Russia's vertically integrated giant Lukoil president Vagit Alekperov and Ukraine's president Victor yanukovich officially launched the new chlorine and caustic soda manufacturing unit at Lukoil's Karpatnaftokhim petrochemical plant in Western Ukraine.

|Russian marine shelf today and outlook for the future|
3rd international practical conference Russia's Offshore Oil and Gas Development (ROOGD) in the Arctic and Far East marine shelf sectors of the country took place on 14-15 October 2010 in Gazprom's VNIIGAS research institute. Gazprom deputy chair Alexander Ananenkov and Sakhalin region governor Alexander Khoroshavin greeted the conference delegates.

Canadians drill for gas in western Crimean steppe
Canada's independent Transeuroenergy started in the end of December decisive stage of exploration drilling at the Kralavskoye gas and gas condensate field in Western Crimea.
|Isomalk at Omsk refinery: successful kick off!|
Russia's vertically integrated Gazprom neft 560,000 b/d Omsk refinery marked on 17 December the launch of commercial output at the refinery's newly built Isomalk-2 isomerisation unit. The refinery obtained some 15,000t of isomerization product by the date.
|OIL TERMINAL 2010: industry forum in the age of the dynamic growth|
One of the highest priority strategic directions in the development of the Russian oil sector is updating of the domestic infrastructure for transportation and storage of oil, LPG and oil products. Over the span of recent years, Russia dynamically performs construction of new oil loading terminals, marine terminals and other marine and river transportation system facilities; besides, the country also modernizes the existing facilities of the kind. This was the main topic of the 5th annual congress and exhibition OIL TERMINAL 2010 that was held on 25–26 November in St. Petersburg. |Lukoil launñhed bottom fuels loading system at Sofrino tank farm|
Russia's vertically integrated Lukoil retail subsidiary in Central Russia Lukoil-Tsenrnefteprodukt launched environmentally friendly bottom fuels loading system at the company's tank farm in the town of Sofrino (Moscow region). The implementation of this technology reduced to minimum possible risks of explosion during the tank farm operation, as well as steeply improved the environmental situation in its area.

|Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard commissioned the second river-sea oil tanker for SVL|
Russia's Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard (member MNP Group, Nizhny Novgorod, Central Russia) launched on 4th December the second river-sea oil tanker SVL Glory, ordered by the SVL Active Trading Ltd. The contract for the two tankers with deadweight of 7,100 t each was inked in May 2010.

Russian company Nevintermash (St. Petersburg) completed modernization of two double-cylinder 8-stage non-cooled compressors 340-81-5M at 160,000b/d Linik refinery in Lisichansk (Eastern Ukraine). As a result, compressors had efficiency coefficient increased along with terminal pressure and flow rate. Here is the story of how this was achieved.

Ukrainian company Ultrasonic Advanced Technologies developed in 2010, a new software for level meter analyzers Analiq-M and Analiq-S. It enables their use for measuring characteristics of such boiling liquids as LPG, propane-propylene and ammonia.

In the 4th quarter 2010 Ukrainian firm ITO started deliveries to the Ukraine's giant turbo-compressors manufacturer NPO Frunze the anti-surge valves from German company ARCA Regler.

Ukrainian gas equipment plant Alfa-Gazpromkomplekt (Ternopil) launched in 2010 production of a new line of ball shut-off compensative tap valves KZK 47 steel (stainless steel) DN 15:100, PN 16, 25, 40.
