|EXPLORATION AND PRODUCTION|
|Little miracles of a big industrial

| One hundred years of innovations
In June 2014 American UOP LLC, a
Honeywell company, marked its 100 th
anniversary, marked 100 years of innovation
and leadership in the oil and gas industry|
UOP was created to commercialize the first conversion technology for upgrading crude oil, resulting in a fourfold increase in the amount of gasoline that could be derived
from crude oil. This created the foundation for the modern oil refining industry just as mass production of automobiles began. The world's leading developer of technologies for the oil and gas industry, UOP has earned more than 12,000 patents and has employed some of the leading scientists in
their field, whose knowledge, passion and determination helped to develop the miracles
of chemical science.
|European downstream in the age
of big changes|
As a side7effect of America's shale revolution and the U.S.A. booming domestic crude oil production, EU refiners lost U.S. gasoline markets. Lower crude runs led to massive shut downs in EU refineries which
in its turn leads to growing fuels, primarily diesel imports to Central and Northern Europe. How will regional businesses deal with the downturn trends and how will low crude oil prices influence the business?
| Ukraine's production 2014. The year of lost opportunities
Why oil and gas production stagnates in Ukraine|
The 2014 natural gas production in the continental part of
Ukraine increased by 2.4% to 19.8bn m 3 , while production
of crude oil and gas condensate slipped by 8% to 54,000
b/d (2.7mn t). Even though the independents' share in the
total production volume is slim, it showed steady growth
over the span of the last 5 years and exceeded 15% in the
natural gas production and 11% in the production of crude
and gas condensate.
