|Kazakhstan 2050: The strategy of powerful growth|
Gaining economic development momentum, Central Asia leader, Kazakhstan, sets ambitious goals planning its complex development in the perspective till the middle of the 21st century. The country's charismatic president Nursultan Nazarbayev addressed Kazakh people in his traditional Address to the Nation on 17 January. OILMARKET magazine was keen to study the document as well as to touch upon a number of key trends of Kazakhstan O&G and energy sectors development, ever more topical «green» energy and regional development issues.

|Nursultan Nazarbayev urged to build a new refinery as well as to develop nuclear power generation|
Kazakhstan has to build a new refinery in addition to the 3 existing ones: 100,000b/d Atyrau, 140,000b/d Chymkent and 100,000b/d Pavlodar, the county's president Nursultan Nazarbayev stated in the traditional Address to the Nation in Astana on 17 January 2014.
He voiced his bewilderment that the country suffers gasoline, jet fuel and kerosene shortfall.
«It is nonsense. Kazakhstan is oil producing country… the new refinery construction has to be started immediately», he said.

In his January Address to the Nation titled «Strategy «Kazakhstan-2050» Kazakhstan president Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasized that «the humanity is facing the 3rd industrial revolution changing the very concept of «production». Technological discoveries change root-and-branch global markets structure and needs. We live in the different technological reality and have to be actively involved in these processes».
